Common Questions
How much do packers and movers charge in OMR
OMR is priced on the Chennai rate card. A 1 BHK move up to 10 km costs ₹6,800, and a 4 BHK moving 25 to 40 km costs ₹27,700. Your own figure comes from the free survey, and the invoice can't exceed it by more than 5%.
Why do Chennai moves start early in the morning
Stair work in the afternoon heat is slow and unsafe, and goods left waiting on a hot terrace can warp. Loading is set for the early hours so most of the carrying is done before midday.
Do you move in Chennai during the monsoon
Yes. Between October and December the route in is confirmed on the morning of the move, because standing water can close stretches at short notice, and wood and electronics are wrapped against moisture.
Is the survey free?
Yes. The survey is free and does not commit you to booking. You receive the written quote after the survey.
Do you charge extra for stairs or a building with no lift
Stair carries, small lifts and long walks from where the truck can stand are measured at the survey and included in your quote. Nothing is added on moving day.
What happens if something is damaged
It is repaired or replaced at its full declared value and settled against your invoice, never argued over. Raise the claim within 24 hours of delivery. Anything lost in transit is paid at 150% of its declared value.
How far ahead should I book a move
A week ahead is usually enough for a local move and two weeks for an intercity one, which leaves time for the survey and any society paperwork. Month-end and weekend dates fill first, so book those earlier.
