What the 5% Invoice Cap Means for You

The bond caps your final invoice at 5% over the surveyed quote. This is what that protects, what it does not, and how it works in practice.

The cap is simple to state. Your final invoice cannot be more than 5% above the quote in your bond, and anything beyond that is waived in full.

Why 5% and not zero

A survey is thorough but not perfect. A carton or two that nobody opened at survey, or a short extra carry, can add a little. The 5% absorbs that honestly instead of pretending the survey is exact.

What counts toward the cap

  • Extra volume found on the day that was in the home at survey
  • Small access changes at the building
  • Additional packing material for surveyed items

What sits outside it

Things you add after the survey are not part of the cap, because they were not there to be counted. They are quoted as separate lines, agreed before they are packed, so they never arrive as a surprise.

How it plays out

If your surveyed quote is ₹20,000, the most you pay for that surveyed inventory is ₹21,000. If the day goes to ₹22,000, the extra ₹1,000 is waived. The cap is written into the bond you sign before packing.
